Goodbyes
are always hard!
Moving from
one home to another is a traumatic experience. You love the house you live in;
you have had many unforgettable experiences with your loved ones and now you
find it a little challenge to leave it.
Besides
emotional attachment that leads to trauma, there are a lot of things you have
to do when you start planning your move. Packing is one thing among all that I
believe is the most time-consuming chore, which most of us take for granted.
Yet, it gives a lot of aches, especially when we do not pack beforehand.
To make
packing a little easy for you, I have listed down several tips.
1. Invest In The Proper Packing Boxes
When it
comes to packing, boxes are always the first thing to consider. Consider
packing your belongings in the boxes that you already have in your house. If
you think you need more boxes, head to the market, and purchase several long-distance moving containers
or boxes. Make sure you are purchasing strong and durable boxes. A little money
you spend on purchasing these crates can save you a lot of hassle in the
future.
2. Pack Your Stuff In The Right Box
Once you
have selected the right movingcontainers long distance, it is the time to pack your stuff. It is
recommended to pack heavy items, such as kitchen utensils or books, in small
boxes. For your light-weight items, such as pillows or linens, consider big
boxes. Avoid packing any of your heavy items in a bigger box as it can only
increase the chance of breaking, which you will never want.
3. Choose The Quality Masking Tape
Masking
tape is one important yet the most for granted item when we talk about packing
goods. The use of masking tape is essential because it can just break under the
weight strain.
4. Fill The Free Space Of Box With Plastic Wrap
Make sure
you spend enough time in packing your items, and always ensure the actions that
help you avoid any hassles in the future. Fill the space of your box with
plastic wrap, polystyrene or cardboard to protect your things inside the box.
Also, thermocol and carton are the perfect materials for packing big and heavy
packages.
5. Carry Essential Things In Your
Handbag
There are
some items that you want to easily accessible and close by during moving days,
including your toothpaste, hair comb, clothes, medication, telephone/computer
loaders etc. Pack such items in a separate handbag that you can carry along
with you. Do not pack such items in long distance movers' containers nc.
6. Microchip And Tag Your Pets
Do not
forget your beloved pets. They are not a thing, but everything! Make sure your
beloved canine is tagged, microchipped and has a backpack full of food,
medication, treatment and toys while it is moving. If you move a long distance,
ensure that each member of the family has enough for them until they are taken
to a new home by the moving van.
Lastly, do
not forget to take help from the experts of Branch Out Moving, if you require
