6 PLACES WHERE SNEEZE GUARDS ARE A MUST!

2020 has to be the most revolutionary year in the current decade. With the outbreak of a global pandemic COVID’19, life has changed throughout the world. This widespread virus made us prioritize hygiene and sanitization like never before. Face masks, social distancing, isolation, and constant sanitization of hands are the new normal.

Erica Chayes Wida, a journalist for Today, says, “Social distancing mandates that people stand at least 6 feet away, but completing a financial transaction from a distance is nearly impossible. The sneeze guards help protect both cashiers and customers”.

What is a Sneeze Guard?

They might seem like something disgusting and infectious, but Sneeze Guards are quite the opposite. They are one of the most effective ways to prevent germ transmission.

A sneeze guard is a protective barrier that keeps germs and infections from spreading from person to person during a conversation. Typically made from either acrylic or perclax glass, sneeze guard works by covering a person’s face and blocking his spittle from reaching others.

Due to the global pandemic, demand for sneeze guards met a sharp rise. Protective sheets in the form of sneeze guards are now being used everywhere possible, including cash registers, receptions, bank counters, doctor’s offices, and even police stations.

Where is SneezeGuard commonly used?

Being a protective barrier, sneeze guards prevent the spread of germs along with enabling physical encounters. You can have a person to person conversation in person while keeping yourself safe and healthy. This helps the world to go back into a routine while helping slow down the further spread of COVID’19

Sneeze guards are most commonly used in the following areas:

·         Restaurants and bakeries

·         Cash registers

·         Reception desks

·         Pharmacies & doctor’s offices

·         Public transports

·         Gas stations

·         Schools

·         Gyms & fitness studios

How are they used?

1.     Restaurants & Bakeries:

The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) require all the food items on display to be protected by covers or sneeze guards for counters. This is specifically for bakeries and buffets, where food is left open, and people can easily breathe onto it, causing contamination.

2.     Cash Registers:

Grocery and retail stores, supermarkets, boutiques, and shopping centers can’t be permanently closed until the pandemic ends. That’s why sneeze guards for counters are installed at cash registers to keep germs from spreading while checking out without having to halt the economy.

3.     Reception Desks:

Receptions at banks, hotels, salons, or anywhere else have now started being equipped with sneeze guards for desks to prevent germ contamination during greeting and inquiry times.

4.     Pharmacies & Doctor’s Offices:

When the world was in lockdown, pharmacies and hospitals were open. These places are the most prone to infections, so it is essential to install sneeze guards for the safety of both the patients and healthcare workers.

5.     Public Transportation:

It's advised to avoid public transportation these days, but not everyone can afford the personal commute. For the safety of drivers themselves and those traveling in public vehicles, sneeze glasses are being installed to keep germs from spreading.

6.     Gas Stations:

Gas stations have also started placing sneeze guards over credit card readers to prevent germs from spreading when multiple people come to fill up their tanks together.

Although the pandemic is changing ways of life and health standards throughout the world, it's also making us realize how crucial it is to exercise precaution. Ensuring small things like wearing masks, sanitizing, and using barriers like sneeze guards can prevent you from catching a virus as deadly as COVID’19.
